Approximately two thirds of patients who require revascularisation have multi-vessel disease with many blocks which can be taken up for angioplasty successfully. With the advent of new technique and technology more and more number of such patients are taken up for angioplasty with excellent results in expert hands as compared to bypass surgery. More number of blockages in coronary arteries are successfully addressed with IVUS guided angioplasty and drug-coated stents.
